Benja Thai & Sushi is a full-service restaurant situated in downtown St. George that brings together Thai and Japanese flavors in a casual yet thoughtfully arranged setting. Located on W St George Blvd, this spot appeals to diners looking to enjoy a broad spectrum of Southeast Asian dishes alongside a variety of sushi rolls.

The atmosphere tends to be lively, especially during peak dinner hours, as the restaurant comfortably accommodates both small groups and larger parties, though a few customers have noted that service can feel a bit rushed or uneven when busy. Seating is ample inside, making it a practical choice for casual dinners rather than quiet, intimate meals.

On the menu, you’ll find classic Thai staples like Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao), Massaman and Panang curries, as well as crowd-pleasing sushi rolls such as the Las Vegas Roll and various creative specialty rolls like the Monkey Brain, which has received particular praise from local diners. Portions lean toward generous, particularly with the Thai dishes, which balance familiar flavors though some might find certain items sweeter than expected. The fusion of Thai curries and sushi gives visitors an option to mix and match within one meal, appealing to groups with diverse tastes.

This spot attracts people who appreciate dependable Asian flavors in a straightforward setting — sushi lovers and those seeking comforting Thai classics like Pad Thai or Ginger Chicken will find reliable options here. It’s also a good venue for those curious about trying something a bit off the usual path, such as shrimp curry or sticky mango rice for dessert.

Lunch and dinner crowds vary, but evenings are generally the liveliest times. If you’re stopping by with a larger group, be prepared for some staggered timing on courses. While prices are on the moderate side, some appetizers and smaller items (like miso soup) feel priced above what you might expect locally.

Overall, Benja Thai & Sushi fits naturally into downtown St. George’s dining scene as a place to get solid Thai and Japanese food under one roof without too much fuss — best for casual gatherings where variety and familiar flavors matter more than fine dining polish.

Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Our party was large, and they struggled to take care of us. Some in our party got their food 10 minutes before others. I thought the food was very good but not great. My curry was flavorful but too sweet. I also had the Benja's special basil stir fry and it was good, but the basil overwhelmed the other flavors. I heard great reviews about the drunken noodles, shrimp stir fry, pot stickers, and fried rice from my party. I would return.

Good meal, sushi was good. Had shrimp with curry, that was really good! Never had that before, great flavor! And the ginger chicken had very good flavor too, reminded me of moo goo gai pan. The crab ragoons came to the table like warm and had very little filling, but they were ok.

Very neat restaurant tucked away in downtown. Great food if you love Thai and sushi. The sushi rolls were delicious to those in my group who had them, and I ate the Thai orange chicken, which was good. Friend said the Panang curry wasn’t as good as they had hoped, but we were all pleased with our service, waiter, and the pleasant atmosphere. Very lovely restaurant.

Came for dinner it was yummy but nothing amazing. It was pretty busy but food came out really quick. We ordered Thai dishes, very big portions and tasty, but I wouldn’t go back for it. Maybe next time we should try the sushi. Also some things a bit pricey, I got an appetizer small miso soup that was $6. Anywhere else it would have been $3. Lots of seating inside. Also the menu has 120 items, so overwhelming, I just know Gordon Ramsey would have something to say about that.

I’ll be brief, ORDER THE MONKEY BRAIN. One of the best rolls I’ve have ever had. Wife ordered the yellow curry, it was sweet and spectacular, I got the drunken noodles, those were pretty good.

Benja's had a nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The menu had plenty of options without it being too overwhelming. The wait was about average 20min at 7pm . The Lovely hostess took our names and seated us well with accommodation for a stroller with a sleeping toddler in it. Food was fairly quick and was tasty. Prices maybe slightly expensive the basic sushi but over all nothing in excess. We had an enjoyable meal and would highly recommend. Reason for 4 stars found a stray hair on the side of my plate. Situation was quickly rectified.

Great place to eat in and to-go.... on to-go orders, portions justify the price.... we ordered Drunken Noodle, Fried rice, Curry.... we all enjoyed our dishes. We did order level 3 spice but we didn't taste any.... we're going to have to up our game and order level 5 next time....
